Exhibit & Display Policy

The Library shall have the final decision on the content and arrangement of all exhibits and displays. The Library expressly reserves the right to reject any display in whole or in part which it deems in its sole discretion to be inappropriate based upon local community standards.

In general, the Library does not accept exhibits or displays of a purely commercial nature, unless they have a special educational, informational, or cultural value to the community.

The area available for exhibits of collections is the locked glass curio cabinet. The area available for display of pamphlets, brochures, and other information relevant to the community are the (1) bulletin board in the foyer (2) the top of the shelves in the foyer. Other areas of the Library may be used if deemed acceptable by the Library Director.


  • Oral or written requests must be made to the Library staff for approval. Requests will be processed on a first-come/first-served basis, with scheduling priority given to active patrons and exhibitors who have not previously presented an exhibit.

  • The exhibitor/lender will complete the Agreement to Exhibit form. Individual items will be listed on the back of the receipt.

  • The Library does not assume responsibility for materials, equipment or any other article left by the organization, group or individual in the library and will not be liable for loss, theft or damage thereto.

  • A member of the Library staff will sign and date the receipt, retaining a copy for the library and providing the original to the lender or exhibitor.

  • The exhibitor is responsible for the installation and dismantling of the exhibit as scheduled. If Library staff assist with installation or removal of an exhibit, the Library is not responsible for any damages.

  • Exhibits and displays will normally be scheduled for a period of 8 weeks. If the exhibit/display is not set up by the assigned period, the exhibit/display may be canceled by the Library.

  • When items are returned to their owner, on or before the agreed pickup date, the owner shall sign and date the original form, noting that all materials have been returned.

  • If items are not picked up at the agreed time, the Library will attempt to contact the owner twice in writing within sixty (60) days. If the owner does not respond after 60 days, the items will become property of the Library to dispose of as it sees fit.

  • No fees are charged for display spaces.


  • Bulletin board notices must be presented to Library staff for approval and posting.

  • Library staff shall remove bulletin board postings and events notices as appropriate and discard notices unless otherwise notified.

  • All posted materials are displayed at the owner’s risk.
