History

The Salisbury Free Library was first founded in 1898, and moved to the Hearse House in Salisbury Heights in 1912. It moved to its current location at 641 Old Turnpike Rd in 1960, re-purposing the former town schoolhouse, built in 1887. In 2008, the building was completely restored and an addition was built to better serve the town’s citizens.

Friends of the Salisbury Free Library

We have an active Friends group, which is a non-profit organization that works in cooperation with the library. Some of their activities include various fundraising events and a monthly book group that meets September through June.
