History

The Salisbury Free Library was first founded in 1898, and moved to the Hearse House in Salisbury Heights in 1912. It moved to its current location at 641 Old Turnpike Rd in 1960, re-purposing the former town schoolhouse, built in 1887. In 2008, the building was completely restored and an addition was built to better serve the town’s citizens.
